Badge of honor

Today marks the end of the Runner’s World running streak and I have officially done it!!!      :)  And just for that I get my very own badge of honor!

I have been reading a lot of blogs and everyone seems to have a lot of resolutions for the new year.  I have finally decided on one myself.   I am borrowing mine from a fellow blogger, Sit for your job. Run for your life.  For every mile I run this year,   I will put a dollar in a special run fund.   If I had done this for 2012,  I would have $750!!!  What an awesome idea!  Thanks Mallory!!

On Sunday,  I got to spend my day helping my best buddy celebrate her 6th birthday.  Her mom, Running Mama Drama, put together an awesome “Around the World” party.   All the kids were given luggage and a passport when they arrived and then they boarded the plane and the pilot (that would be me!) stamped their passports before we headed over to a country to play games.  Such a fun and inventive party!  All the kids had a blast!!  Even the big kids!

Best friends/Princesses!

Best friends/Princesses!

All of the pictures here were borrowed from my friend,  Nicole.  I was too busy stamping passports and wrangling kids to take pictures!

I have one more day off then it is back to work for a few days.  I am ready to get back on my regular schedule.  All this celebrating (and cake) isn’t helping my waistline any!  Knowing that with each run that I am making money,  hopefully it will motivate me to run even more!  Plus all my favorite reality shows will be starting soon so that will help with the motivation,  not to mention 2 weeks in Key West at the end of the month so  I need to be swimsuit ready.  I better get busy!!

    • Thanks! The back pain is still there but not near as bad as it was earlier in the month. I am looking forward to going to the chiropractor on Friday and getting the final kinks worked out.

  6. Isn’t it weird how much you miss routine after awhile? I am so ready to be back to the grind, but I will enjoy a few more days of rest. An around the world party? My only experience with that involved mixed drinks and cocktails. I think your friends sounds like just as much fun!

  10. Congrats on finishing the streak!! It’s a major accomplishment, you should be proud. I do have a question about the money saving. At the end of the year, are you going to spend that money on something? Is there something specific you’re saving for?
