Today marks the end of the Runner’s World running streak and I have officially done it!!! :) And just for that I get my very own badge of honor!
I have been reading a lot of blogs and everyone seems to have a lot of resolutions for the new year. I have finally decided on one myself. I am borrowing mine from a fellow blogger, Sit for your job. Run for your life. For every mile I run this year, I will put a dollar in a special run fund. If I had done this for 2012, I would have $750!!! What an awesome idea! Thanks Mallory!!
On Sunday, I got to spend my day helping my best buddy celebrate her 6th birthday. Her mom, Running Mama Drama, put together an awesome “Around the World” party. All the kids were given luggage and a passport when they arrived and then they boarded the plane and the pilot (that would be me!) stamped their passports before we headed over to a country to play games. Such a fun and inventive party! All the kids had a blast!! Even the big kids!
All of the pictures here were borrowed from my friend, Nicole. I was too busy stamping passports and wrangling kids to take pictures!
I have one more day off then it is back to work for a few days. I am ready to get back on my regular schedule. All this celebrating (and cake) isn’t helping my waistline any! Knowing that with each run that I am making money, hopefully it will motivate me to run even more! Plus all my favorite reality shows will be starting soon so that will help with the motivation, not to mention 2 weeks in Key West at the end of the month so I need to be swimsuit ready. I better get busy!!

Congrats on your streak! I know your back was bothering you for a while so I’m glad you’re doing well!!

Thanks! The back pain is still there but not near as bad as it was earlier in the month. I am looking forward to going to the chiropractor on Friday and getting the final kinks worked out.

Wow- great work with the running streak!
That’s a brilliant birthday party theme and it sounds like a lot of fun!
Happy New Year!

CONGRATS on that awesome running streak!

Thanks! It didn’t sound that hard at first but when it got closer to the holidays, it got a little trickier!

Isn’t it weird how much you miss routine after awhile? I am so ready to be back to the grind, but I will enjoy a few more days of rest. An around the world party? My only experience with that involved mixed drinks and cocktails. I think your friends sounds like just as much fun!

I probably wouldn’t be quite as ready to get back to the grind if it was a whole week though. A couple of days I can handle!!

I must not have officially signed up for the streak, I didn’t get a badge
Posted by runnerbydefault on January 3, 2013 at 12:04 am
Now you have a badge!

Congrats! That is a huge accomplishment. I am ready to feel well enough to get in my frist run of the year! I think your save a dollar idea sounds amazing! Enjoy!

Thanks! I hope you feel better soon too. Fingers crossed all that cold and flu stuff stays far away from this house!!

I love the idea of putting in a $1 for each mile you run ^^ That would definitely keep me motivated
That sounded like a fun party! Very creative too ^^

So far it has kept me motivated. My husband keeps reminding me that we also have to pay bills, not just my running fund!!

Congrats on finishing the streak!! It’s a major accomplishment, you should be proud. I do have a question about the money saving. At the end of the year, are you going to spend that money on something? Is there something specific you’re saving for?

Thanks!! The boy and I usually go to Florida sometime in January so if I don’t use it for that trip then I will use it for my 40th birthday present to Ireland with my 3 best friends in the spring/summer of 2014. We have been planning this trip for awhile and I can’t wait!!!

Ooooo…that sounds like so much fun. I’m thinking of copying your idea!
