I finally decided to go shoe shopping this weekend. I have worn the same pair of running shoes for way too long! I have a slight anxiety when I go shoe shopping and I blame a local running store for putting me in a pair of shoes that were a size and a half too big and they killed my feet!! I kept the shoes and trained in them for the Disney Princess half marathon and was miserable by the end of the race. My old shoes are falling apart so I was more than determined to find a pair. I have been wearing orthotics for the past 3 years so that doesn’t help either. I decided to buy a pair that were a half-size bigger than usual but are essentially the same exact shoe as my last ones. Now I just have to give myself time to adjust to it. Fingers crossed!! The good news is that I love the color of them!
I have been getting my daily runs in and stashing cash back for every mile and contributing to the Chilly Challenge! Go Team Escapades! I am almost out of DVR’ed shows so what a better time to head south and do some outdoor running in the great state of Florida. It is going to be in the single digits (colder with the windchill) in my neck of the woods for the rest of this week. All you crazy outdoor runners be safe!
My friend and fellow blogger, Running Mama Drama, and I signed up for the Biggest Loser Half Marathon in Racine, Wisconsin in September. How cool will it be to have a Biggest Loser medal to hang on the wall? Hopefully we get to meet some former contestants too. I’m excited about it. It will be a fun weekend!!
Plus, believe it or not, Wisconsin is a state that I have ever never been to (even though it is only a short 4 hours from me) so I will be able to mark it off my list!!
Do you wear orthotics when you run?
Do you buy shoes in your normal size or do you go up a size or a half?
